The City of Angels – Los Angeles Modeling Agencies

Top 10 Modeling Agencies in Los Angeles for Male Models, Becoming LA Models.

We covered the top modeling agencies for male models in the Big Apple last time (check NYC modeling agencies), and now we’re going to the West Coast to take a peek at the top modeling agencies in Los Angeles, California. While we go to the opposite end of the country, the conditions are still the same: competition is stiff, and you’ll probably get even more competition in LA because of all the aspiring actors running around the city.

You’ll find a large number of modeling agencies in LA of all types and sorts, but here are our top picks as it pertains to modeling:

  1. Wilhelmina Models – With numerous licensees and connections to model management firms stateside and across the globe, there are few that can compare to Wilhelmina as far as talent and gigs go. The agency offers variety and stability—but getting in is the tricky part.

  2. Ford Models LA – There’s nothing quite like signing up with Ford, with the instant recognition and unparalleled management you’ll get here. It’s known for its innovation, backed by the talents, creatives, and agents within the agency.

  3. Click Models LA – it has over a thousand talents across a diverse range of segments, including male modeling. There are even divisions for showrooms and TV commercials. Of course, the LA side has a talent division that manages talents for TV or film stints. Click is also connected to Framework Entertainment, which is a management and production firm with well-known music, stage, film, and TV clients.

  4. Q Model Management LA – Represents some big names in male modeling, and has a fairly expansive network and has a solid base of clients, magazines, and agencies. The talent is diverse, and the Q staff members are equipped to handle all that.

  5. Elite Model Management LA – This agency is responsible for some of the better-known names in the industry, and it’s a large company that has a considerable international network. It manages hundreds of talents coming from over 50 countries.

  6. Next Models Los Angeles – this agency has a fairly wide-reaching network, thanks in part to having locations in Paris and New York. If you’re a male model, the global network should excite you.

  7. LA Models – this agency has several divisions, including LA Talents, which is a full-service agency that covers TV, film, and on-camera commercial jobs. LA Models itself is known internationally.

  8. DT Model Management – DT is known for doing a good job of developing and managing the talents it has on board.

  9. Photogenics Media – a fairly new entry (started 2002), the faces here are also fresh. Specializes in high fashion and covers coast-to-coast and international bookings.

  10. Nous Model Management – this boutique agency aims to find fresh talent. It focuses on runway and high-fashion print stints.

Los Angeles is a big city, and it’s filled with LA Models who want the same spots you’re after. If you’re going to try your luck in the City of Angels, then you’d better come prepared. Starting with this list of modeling agencies in LA and getting your portfolio in order should be good points to start with, and a great deal of patience certainly won’t hurt:)

Hey Drew! Thanks for Reaching out:) Small tattoos are usually not a huge hindrance. Large tattoos covering major portions of the body will likely cost a model a few jobs here and there but small ones can be overlooked. In fact, I have two small tattoos (though I wish I did not anymore) and thought I am sure I have lost a few jobs due to these, I have still had quite a great career and even got a couple jobs from having them.
